Karina Farias

Farias named Music Director at KOIT and KUFX

July 6, 2018 by Veronica Villafañe

Karina Farias has left her native Texas to become Music Director of San Francisco Bay Area FM radio stations KOIT 96.5 and 98.5 KFOX.

She arrives to the Bonneville International-owned stations from Bryan Broadcasting in College Station, Texas where she was an on-air personality, Music Director and Assistant Program Director for Maverick 100.9 and Willy 97.7 FMs. She was also a part-time weekend on-air personality at Houston’s 100.3 The Bull (KILT-FM).

“I love Texas and everything about it, but I’m excited for a new adventure. It’s no secret for those that know me that California was where I wanted to end up and it’s happened,” Farias tells Media moves. “This move means so much for me and my career. It shows that I’m willing to work hard to get to where I want to be.”

Farias began her career in broadcasting as a promotions assistant and weekend on-air personality in 2014, before getting promoted to weekdays, taking on managerial roles two years later.

She started the new job on July 5.

“This is the opportunity of a life time! I get to work alongside programmers that have so much experience and knowledge,” she says. “I can’t wait to learn so much from them all.”
