KGBT hires reporter Clara Benitez

August 30, 2018 by Veronica Villafañe

Clara Benitez has joined Harlingen CBS affiliate KGBT as a reporter.

She’ll be working out of the station’s Hidalgo County newsroom, working weekdays for the 5, 6 and 10 pm newscasts.

Her on-air debut is next week.

Before moving to Texas, Benitez was an MMJ at KGBT’s sister station KVAL in Eugene, Oregon, where she got her broadcast start out of college.

A San Diego native, she previously interned at KPNX 12 News in Phoenix during her final year at Arizona State’s Cronkite School of Journalism.
