Fernández named CFO of tech company NCR

André Fernandez, who left his position as CBS Radio president following its merger with Entercom nine months ago, is moving on to a new role outside the broadcasting industry.

He has joined the executive leadership team of tech company NCR (formerly National Cash Register) as Chief Financial Officer.

Fernández had been at CBS Radio since 2015, where in addition to overseeing over 100 stations nationwide, he led the effort to prepare the company for a potential IPO. CBS Radio merged with Entercom in November 2017.

According to multiple reports, Fernández’s contract with CBS didn’t expire until the end of 2020, entitling him to receive three times the amount of his annual base salary and target bonus, as well as a cash incentive, estimated at over $8.3 million, as a result from the merger.

Prior to CBS Radio, Fernández was CFO and EVP of Finance and Strategy at with Journal Communications.

He also worked as SVP and CFO at Telemundo from 2004 to 2008, helping the network with the acquisitions of Telemundo-RTI Studios and Tepuy International.
