November 23, 2018 by Veronica Villafañe

Alicia Barrera is jumping over 50 markets to cross over into English-language news.

She has quit her job at Telemundo 40 McAllen (DMA 84), where she has been a video journalist reporting, shooting and editing her own stories for the past three years.

A Dallas-area native, Barrera will join KSAT in San Antonio (DMA 31) as an MMJ.

Her on-air debut at the ABC affiliate is scheduled for early December.

This will be her first job in English-Language media. It will also mark her return to San Antonio.

Prior to joining Telemundo 40, Barrera spent a year as an MMJ at Telemundo 60. She previously freelanced for Univision San Antonio.
