LBI appoints Rubio program director of Dallas Radio Stations

March 7, 2019 by Veronica Villafañe

Tomás Rubio has moved on to a new role at LBI Media. He is the new program director for KNOR – La Raza 93.7FM, KBOC – Luna 98.3FM, and KZZA – La Ranchera 106.7FM, LBI’s radio stations in Dallas.

He is responsible for all content and music programming at all three radio properties.

Rubio was most recently co-host on EstrellaTV’s news magazine show iTestigo, based in Los Angeles, and has also worked as executive producer in early LBI Media shows such as “Que Buena TV,” “El Show de Don Cheto,” “Lagrimita y Costel,” and “Studio 2,” where he had a four-year run as lead host.

He is best known for co-creating, producing and giving voice to the radio character known as “El Morro.” He recorded several music albums as “El Morro” that garnered gold and platinum albums for sales that exceeded over 2.5 million copies.

Rubio, who started his career in his native Mexico as a radio DJ and music producer, is a Grammy-nominated music producer and music video director who has also worked with major record labels in both Latin pop and regional Mexican music genres in Mexico and the United States.
