Steve Malave 2017

Malavé out at Telemundo Sacramento

June 11, 2019 by Veronica Villafañe

Steve Malavé is no longer news director at Telemundo 33 in Sacramento.

His exit comes less than three months after the Telemundo Station Group completed its acquisition of the Serestar-owned affiliate and the arrival of new management.

A station spokesperson confirmed Malavé’s departure. A search is underway for his replacement.

Malavé was named Telemundo 33 news director in 2017. Before that, he was executive producer and news content manager for KXTV ABC10 in Sacramento.

He was previously senior news content producer at the now defunct MundoFox. His past experience includes roles as news director at NPR affiliate WUSF in Tampa and executive positions at Univision New York and Sacramento.
