Guillermo Quiroz joins Telemundo 48 as weather anchor

November 12, 2019 by Veronica Villafañe

Guillermo Quiroz is back on the air. The longtime KMEX television personality has moved north to Telemundo 48 to become weather and traffic anchor at the Bay Area station.

He’ll be working for Noticiero Telemundo 48’s weeknight newscasts at 5, 6 and 11 pm.

His first day was yesterday.

Quiroz previously spent 20 years at Univision 34 in Los Angeles. He left the station in September 2018.

He’ll be a familiar face in the Bay Area, because in addition to KMEX-34, Quiroz delivered local forecasts for Univision affiliates in the Bay Area, Sacramento, Fresno and Bakersfield. He also provided weather forecasts for stations in Southern California and the Southeast.

Before Univision, he was a meteorologist for Televisa’s “Nuevo Día” for Televisa in Puebla, Mexico.

Among his many activities, Quiroz is currently a solar system ambassador for NASA.
