Cindy Bernal has joined the Telemundo Utah news team as solo anchor

Bernal is Telemundo Utah’s new anchor

January 7, 2020 by Veronica Villafañe

Cindy Bernal has joined the Telemundo Utah news team as solo anchor for the station’s weekday 5 and 10 newscasts.

She replaces Silvana Effio, who resigned last October.

Bernal stepped in for a short period in September during Effio’s maternity leave and ended up getting an offer to take on the role full-time.

She previously spent two years as a reporter and fill-in anchor for Telemundo Boston’s Noticiero Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra newscast. Before that, Bernal worked as a producer and  reporter at Estrella TV in Los Angeles from 2013 to 2018.
