Marqués González appointed co-chair of the Pulitzer Prize Board

Aminda Marqués González has been appointed co-chair of the Pulitzer Prize Board. She is the first Hispanic to serve as a board chair.

Marqués González, who is the executive editor, president and publisher of The Miami Herald and El Nuevo Herald, will serve as co-chair with Stephen Engelberg, editor-in-chief of ProPublica.

She had been a member of the board since 2012.

Since taking over as executive editor in 2010, The Miami Herald has won two Pulitzer Prizes and has been a finalist five times.

Marqués González has was promoted to publisher of McClatchy’s Miami papers in 2019.
