Sandra Cervantes - Fatima Navarrete

Telemundo 48 names Cervantes and Navarrete new weeknight and weekend anchors

July 16, 2020 by Veronica Villafañe

KSTS Telemundo 48 today announced that effective immediately, Sandra Cervantes will be the station’s new weeknight anchor, joining co-anchor César Bayona and weather anchor Guillermo Quiroz at 5, 6, and 11 pm.

She replaces Lorena Domínguez who exited the company on June 26.

Cervantes previously co-anchored KSTS 48’s noon newscasts since their launch in 2018. Before that, she was an anchor and reporter at KUVS Univision 19 in Sacramento.

Fátima Navarrete will anchor the station’s weekend newscasts, Noticiero Telemundo 48 Fin De Semana. She joins weather anchor David González and sports anchors Carlos Mauricio Ramirez and Carlos Yustis.

She replaces Paola Reyes, who left the company in June 2019.

A native of El Salvador, Navarrete first joined Telemundo 48 in December of 2019. She previously worked as a video journalist and fill-in anchor for KFTV, Univision Fresno.
