Benjamín Zamora starts new anchor role at Telemundo Las Vegas

Benjamin Zamora

Telemundo Las Vegas has brought in Benjamín Zamora as its new weekday anchor for the 5:30, 6 and 11 pm newscasts.

He replaces Antonio Texeira, who moved up to Telemundo network as host of “Al Rojo Vivo” in October.

Zamora will be co-anchoring with Leticia Castro, who has been at the station since 2014 and was promoted to main anchor, following Claudia De La Fuente’s move to Telemundo 48 in the Bay Area.

He made his on-air debut this week.

Zamora arrives to the station from Telemundo Chicago, where he worked since 2018 as an anchor, reporter and host of political news talk show Enfoque Chicago.

The move marks his return to Las Vegas. He was previously anchor and producer at Univision Las Vegas from 2016 to 2018, until Entravision shut down production of the local newscast as part of cuts in the company’s stations nationwide.

Before that, he worked in his hometown of El Paso for Univision 26, NBC affiliate KTSM NewsChannel 9 and KTDO Telemundo, where he began his career in 2010.
