Univision to launch streaming service PrendeTV

January 13, 2021 by Veronica Villafañe

Univision is entering the streaming wars.

Just a day after announcing a slate of new executive leaders, including the addition of former Telemundo network president Luis Siberwasser, and a series of nationwide layoffs, the company announced plans to launch PrendeTV.

The free, ad-supported streaming service targeting the U.S. Hispanic audience is scheduled to debut in the first quarter of 2021.

The company says its streaming platform will have “100% Spanish-language programming” that will feature Hollywood blockbusters, global television series and programs from Univision and Televisa’s libraries.

Univision says it will kick off with over 30 channels
