Former Univision ND Yolanda López named acting VOA director

Yolanda López has been appointed Acting Director at Voice of America, overseeing a multimedia news operation that broadcasts in more than 40 languages around the world on radio, television, and online.

She was previously Director of the VOA News Center, responsible for all editorial and content production. In that role, she led the implementation News Center’s transition to a digital first strategy.

She joined VOA in 2015 as Latin America Division Director, following a 6-year break from newsrooms, working in marketing and communications in her native Spain.

López worked as news director at WGBO Univision Chicago from March 2005 to December 2007. Before that, she was an executive producer at KMEX in Los Angeles, a role she also previously held at WGBO.
