Tom Llamas returns to NBC News as anchor and senior national correspondent

May 2, 2021 by Veronica Villafañe

Three months after his exit from ABC, Tom Llamas returns to NBC News, where he began his reporting career in 2000.

He rejoins the network on May 3 as an anchor and senior national correspondent.

Llamas will anchor a new evening newscast on NBC News NOW, the network’s 24/7 streaming news service, which launched in 2019 and has expanded its live programming in recent months.

The new primetime show on NBC News NOW is scheduled to kick off sometime this Summer.

He’ll also be reporting for the network’s flagship shows, including TODAY and NBC Nightly News and to NBC’s breaking news and special events coverage.

Llamas was most recently anchor of ABC News’ World News Tonight weekend editions and contributed to breaking news and live events programming for ABC News Live. He was also the network’s chief national affairs correspondent, reporting across all of ABC News’ programs and platforms.
