Joanna Hernández returns to Chicago for job at WTTW

July 20, 2021 by Veronica Villafañe

Joanna Hernández has joined WTTW Channel 11 as an on-air reporter for the PBS-affiliated station in Chicago.

She’ll be producing and reporting for WTTW News, public affairs program “Chicago Tonight” and Saturday evening program “Latino Voices.”

She will also write and produce regular content for wttw.com/news.

The move marks a return home for the Chicago native.

Hernández was most recently a multilingual morning reporter and assignment editor for News 12 Bronx and Brooklyn in New York, where she shot, wrote and edited local news stories since 2016. She also worked as an assignment editor for WXTV Univision 41 in New York.
