Sinclair promotes Serena Romero to news director

Serena Romero has been named news director at WHAM, Sinclair Broadcast Group’s ABC affiliate in Rochester, New York.

She was promoted from assistant news director at CNY Central, Sinclair’s CBS-NBC duopoly since 2019.

She starts the new job at WHAM on Monday, July 26, but will be pulling double duty, continuing her role at CNY Central until August 4.

Romero previously spent two years as a line producer for NBC and MSNBC in New York. She has also worked as a producer for WISN in Milwaukee and CW 6 San Diego.
