Roberto Yañez has been promoted to president and regional manager for the newly created Northeast Corridor, comprised of New York, Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and Cleveland.

He has led Univision New York as president and general manager since 2017.

Yañez joined Univision in 2008 as VP of news at Univision’s KMEX-34 in Los Angeles. He previously worked for the NBC Affiliate in El Paso, CNN in Atlanta, and KCAL and KCBS in Los Angeles.

Veronika Moroian moves up to president and general manager of Univision Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. and New York station manager, where she will lead business strategy for all three markets.

Since starting at Univision in 2003, Moroian worked her way up the ranks at KMEX in Los Angeles and WGBO in Chicago, before landing in New York, where she was most recently VP of Business Strategy.

The promotions are effective December 1.

According to Univision, the moves are “a direct result of Univision’s recent acquisition of affiliate stations in Orlando, Tampa and Washington D.C. from Entravision” and plans to continue the  transformation of its local media division.

Univision previously announced it promoted Gianncarlo Cifuentes to VP and regional news director for its Tampa and Orlando stations and Eddy Elguezábal has been named president and general manager of Univision Orlando and Univision Tampa.
