TelevisaUnivision unveils name and launch date for its global streaming platform

TelevisaUnivision has revealed ViX is the name of its new Spanish-language content global streaming service.

The name of the platform was unveiled during a virtual event presented by some of the company’s top executives, including CEO Wade Davis and President and Chief Transformation Officer Pierluigi Gazzolo.

The platform will have a two-tier service: free, ad-supported ViX, set to launch on March 31 and the premium paid subscription ViX+, scheduled to debut in the second half of 2022.

Rafael Urbina, EVP and GM of ViX and Rodrigo Mazón, EVP and GM of ViX+ also provided details about the programming on each of the tiers, with Mazón announcing a two-year deal with Salma Hayek’s company Ventanarosa Productions.
