Carlos Díaz Warns tapped to lead Estrella Media’s news division

Estrella Media has hired Carlos Díaz Warns as SVP of News, tasked with leading the company’s national and local broadcast and digital networks news divisions.

He will be based at Estrella Media’s headquarters in Burbank, CA.

Díaz was most recently Mexico Bureau Chief for Univision Network. Before that, he was news director at Entravision’s KLDO/KXOF in Laredo, Texas from 2015 to 2018.

He previously held various positions with Univision, including Bureau Chief of Interactive Media. In that role, he helped launch Univision’s digital news operations in Mexico. He also spent over six years as a producer for Primer Impacto.

Diaz also worked as Multimedia General Vice Director for Mexico’s El Universal newspaper.
