Adriana Ruggiero leaves anchor desk for news director role at Entravision

September 27, 2022 by Veronica Villafañe

Adriana Ruggiero has left the anchor desk at Entravision’s San Diego station to take on her first role as news director.

She conducted her last 11 pm newscast on Friday, September 23, which she co-anchored with Tsi-Tsi-Ki Felix, and starts the new position this week.

Ruggiero will now oversee the newsrooms of the company’s San Diego, Palm Springs, El Centro and the Central Coast market stations.

She’ll continue to be based in San Diego.

Prior to joining Entravision’s Noticias Univision San Diego as an anchor in 2020, Ruggiero spent four years in a variety of communications positions. She also did a brief stint as a Telemundo San Diego reporter.

She was previously primetime news anchor at Estrella TV in Los Angeles and host of the company’s then national public affairs En La Lucha from 2013 to 2016.

Before moving to Los Angeles, Ruggiero, an attorney in her native Venezuela, worked as a local news anchor at Televisora de Oriente.
