Alyssa Flores has left TV news for UC comms job

May 16, 2023 by Veronica Villafañe

Reporter Alyssa Flores has left her job as a reporter at KFSN and quit local TV news after eight years in the business.

She has joined the communications team at the University of California Merced as a public information officer.

The Southern California native shared on social media that while being a TV news reporter was a “childhood dream come true” and that she learned a lot from the people she has interviewed throughout the years, “the decision to move on from local news was heavy and emotional.”

But she pointed out her new job will allow her to “continue storytelling in the Central Valley.”

Prior to joining KFSN in 2020, Flores worked at KFBB in Helena, MT, and at KERO in Bakersfield, CA.
