Angel Salcedo joins WCVB as sports reporter

June 6, 2023 by Veronica Villafañe

Angel Salcedo’s new career move takes him from hard news to sports full time at WCVB.

Salcedo has joined the Boston ABC affiliate as a sports reporter for SportsCenter 5.

He started at the new station this week.

A Boston-area native, he returns home from KOAT Action 7 News in Albuquerque, NM, where he spent the last two years as a general assignment reporter.

Before graduating from Emerson College, he gained experience as a reporter, executive director, and news director at WEBN-TV, working for both Spanish and English-language student-run newscasts.

Salcedo is a second generation on-air personality. His dad, Angel Salcedo, is a producer and TV host of “Encuentro Latino TV”, who has also worked for Univision Boston.
