Canela Media hires Peter Gonzalez as its first CTO

July 20, 2023 by Veronica Villafañe

Canela Media continues its expansion plans with its hiring of Peter Gonzalez to the newly created position of Chief Technology Officer.

He’ll be responsible for leading Canela Media’s technology initiatives, working with the executive team to enhance Canela Media’s digital infrastructure and advance the company’s position in media industry.

Gonzalez, who has more than 25 years of expertise in broadcast media and entertainment, was most recently SVP of Media Technology team at the WWE. During his almost 7 years at the company, he oversaw full-stack software, core platform, mobile, and video engineering teams that built and powered WWE’s digital consumer products that include WWE.com, mobile apps, and the WWE network.

His past experience includes positions as senior director of technology for Turner Broadcasting. He previously held various managerial technology jobs at NBCUniversal, where he was part of the leadership team that executed the relaunch of CNBC.com.

Canela Media onboarded Chechu Lasheras as its new chief strategy officer in June.
