Abigail Velez has started a new job as morning reporter and MMJ at CBS Austin affiliate KEYE-TV.
She joined the station from WNCT-TV in Greenville, North Carolina, another CBS affiliate.
Velez had been a multimedia journalist at WNCT since January 2023, where she focused on covering underserved and minority communities.
Prior to landing her first broadcast journalism job, Velez was crowned Miss San Antonio USA 2022.
She is a graduate of the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, where she served as a reporter and lead anchor for UIWtv, the school’s student-run newscast.
