Ruthanne Salido promoted to assistant managing editor at LA Times

Ruthanne Salido has joined the Los Angeles Times’ senior leadership ranks.

She was elevated to assistant managing editor, just two months after being named director of The Times’ multiplatform desk, where she oversaw all copy editing and served as co-chair of the Standards and Practices Committee.

Salido has worked at paper for three decades in various roles, joining The Times in 1989 on the Orange County copy desk. During her tenure at the paper, she has edited or worked on most of The Times’ desks, including Business and National, and was the manager of the digital-only morning copy desk for about five years.

She has also has worked on the copy desks of the Washington Post, Stars & Stripes, the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Orange County Register and the Pasadena Star-News.
