Emmy award-winning journalist Silvana Effio is bidding farewell to Telemundo Colorado, where she has been weekday news anchor for nearly three years.
During her time at the Denver station, Effio produced and wrote the Emmy Award-winning segment “En Voz de Ellas,” which shed light on the struggles and successes of Hispanic women. Her work as an anchor also earned her four Emmy Awards in Colorado.
Her last day will be this Friday, March 8.
“I am truly grateful to Telemundo and the leaders who have trusted me throughout the years,” Effio tells Media Moves. “This company has allowed me to grow as a professional and has supported me in every step of my journey.”
Effio is also taking a break from the daily TV newsroom grind to focus on personal professional projects. As she embarks on a new chapter, she says she remains committed to serving her diverse audiences across her digital media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, and www.SilvanaEffio.com.
Prior to her role at Telemundo Colorado, Effio worked as a news director and anchor at Telemundo Utah and did freelance work for various TV stations, including Univision San Diego.
Effio will be moving back to Southern California to be closer to family.
