Luisiana Rios has joined The Poynter Institute as an editor for its fact-checking site PolitiFact.
She started her new role on April 16.
Rios most recently spent five years at TelevisaUnivision as a digital content manager, leaving the company as executive producer of multiplatform content.
She was previously a multimedia journalist for the Global News Network, an anchor and reporter for América TeVé from 2013 to 2016, and anchor at the now-defunct online news venture SOiTV.
Rios started her journalism career in her native Venezuela, where she worked almost 14 years as an anchor, reporter and executive producer at RCTV.
