Changes coming to Telemundo network newscast?

August 7, 2009 by Veronica Villafañe

Pedro Sevcec has been anchoring Noticiero Telemundo since 2000. But ratings are dismal, compared to Noticiero Univision with María Elena Salinas and Jorge Ramos. Could Telemundo be experimenting with some talent changes?

I’m told José Diaz Balart and Vanessa Hauc will be anchoring Telemundo’s network newscast today. The last time Pedro Sevcec co-anchored the newscast with a female colleague was 6 years ago, with Ana Patricia Candiani. He had previously co-anchored with María Elvira Salazar.

It would be a pity to have Diaz-Barlat again and an anchorman. He has a political agenda and has never understood that the US allows more politcal views than his Miami bias opinion.

Amen, gserrano, but the political agenda is not just Diaz-Balart's. Sevcec himself can't keep his opinions to himself. They are a shame to the profession. At least Maria Elvira Salazar could manage to do that, before she went completely unleashed at MegaTV.
