Durón honored with Latino Spirit Award

KRON-4 anchor and Latinas Contra Cancer founder Ysabel Durón will be honored with the 2011 Latino Spirit Award for Achievement in Journalism & Media, next Monday, May 9th.

Among those who’ll receive this year’s award: actors Rosario Dawson and Wilmer Valderrama, and singer Jenni Rivera, for Achievement in Entertainment & Philanthropy; José Luis Orozco, for Achievement in Music & Literature; and Justice Carlos R. Moreno, for Achievement in Public Service.

The Latino Spirit Award, given by the California Latino Legislative Caucus, was created in 2001 to recognize and honor distinguished Latinos for their contributions and dedication to California and the U.S. economy.
