Peimbert leaves anchor desk for network correspondent, Krauze to replace him

October 19, 2011 by Veronica Villafañe

Univision today announced a high-profile talent change.  Raúl Peimbert, who has been a news anchor at KMEX-34 in Los Angeles for the past 6 years, will leave that post to become Sr. West Coast Correspondent for Network and Affiliate News.  He will be replaced by León Krauze effective December.

Raúl’s extensive career in Spanish-language television in the U.S. began in 1991.  Prior to his work at KMEX-34, he was an anchor for KVEA-52, Telemundo Network and CBS Telenoticias.  Before that he was co-anchor of Univision’s “Noticias y Más” (which later became “Primer Impacto.”)

León Krauze

This is León Krauze’s first job in the U.S. media.  He was most recently anchor of the nightly newscast “Hora 21” for Televisa’s Foro TV,  a 24-hr news network launched in 2010 in Mexico City.  He was also host of “Segunda Emisión,” a radio magazine program on W Radio and a weekly columnist for the Mexican newspaper Milenio.
