Acevedo named co-anchor of Univison’s evening newscast

April 11, 2012 by Veronica Villafañe

Enrique Acevedo has joined Univision. Looks like the network is shying away from having solo news anchors.

Starting April 23, he will co-anchor the national late evening news, “Noticiero Univision  Edición Nocturna,” alongside Ilia Calderón.

Ilia was named solo anchor of the late newscast in March of 2011, when Univision did some major talent changes.

Enrique was most recently special correspondent and anchor for Telemundo network. He was previously a senior reporter for Televisa’s special investigations bureau in Mexico where he hosted “La Otra Agenda,” and was also a correspondent for the investigative news magazine “Los Reporteros” on  ForoTV, Televisa’s 24-hour cable news channel.

Before Televisa, he was a national affairs reporter and special projects editor at Mexico’s newspaper Reforma.
