Broadcasting and Cable has named Univision Communications “Multiplatform Broadcaster of the Year” of 2012. In the latest edition, B&C praises Univision for its “efforts to expand its programming on TV, online, social media and mobile,” making its content – including 2012 Presidential Election coverage – available across all platforms.

Univision-logosUnivision’s 2012 expansion efforts include the launch of 4 new networks: Univision Deportes, Univision tlnovelas, FORO TV, and UVideos, the Company’s bilingual digital video network.

The company also expanded the number of digital subchannels being used through the distribution agreement announced earlier this month with Bounce TV and sought to grow its TV Everywhere efforts.

Additionally, Univision launched Univision America, the company’s AM radio network and announced a joint venture with ABC News for a new English-language cable network, set to debut in 2013.
