Media Moves teams up with Hispanicize 2013 for journalist contest

MediaMoves-contest1Hispanicize 2013 (www.HispanicizeEvent.com), the biggest Latino social media, journalism, marketing, film, music conference is taking place next month in Miami Beach from April 9-13th.

As the media industry evolves, so must the the journalist that wants to remain relevant.

That’s why Media Moves has teamed up with Hispanicize, creating a contest to send one journalist to the 2013 conference.

This is the first year Hispanicize is incorporating a journalism showcase and a Latino Tech and Media Entrepreneurs Symposium.

Journalists will have the opportunity to explore options as media entrepreneurs, mingle with bloggers and potential start up sponsors and learn about new social media tools.

Some of the top Latino journalists in the country will be among the speakers, including Pulitzer-prize winner Sonia Nazario, Web Journalist Chat Creator (#WJChat) and USC Professor Robert Hernandez and Soledad O’Brien, among others.

The grand prize for the contest is a free registration to the event, round-trip airfare and a two-day hotel stay.

CONTEST:

Write a 150-word blog post about why you would like to attend Hispanicize 2013. Tell us about what panels you’d like to attend and why (See full agenda).

Once your post is written and published, send an email to contest@mediamoves.com with a link back to your post and your information (name, city, name of your blog, email).

To be eligible to win you must:

  1. Be a Latino working journalist (either full-time or active freelance)
  2. Have your own blog, where you can publish a story about entering the contest and why you’re doing so
  3. Must be 100% sure that you will be attending Hispanicize 2013
  4. Follow @mediamoves and @Hispanicize on Twitter and “Like” their Facebook pages
  5. Tweet about your participation in the contest and post it on Facebook

You can use this sample tweet:

Just entered @mediamoves contest to win free @Hispanicize 2013 pass. http://bit.ly/X9aZZT #Hispz13 #mediamoves

Make sure you include hashtags #Hispz13 and #MediaMoves.

Grand prize: 1 free registration to the event, 1 night stay at the luxurious Eden Roc hotel and one round-trip airfare to Miami.

Second prize: 1 free registration to the event

The prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for money.

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT POST AND ENTER THE CONTEST IS MARCH 20.

WINNER WILL BE SELECTED AND ANNOUNCED ON MARCH 21.
