NUVOtv names Jennifer Lopez Chief Creative Officer

May 16, 2013 by Veronica Villafañe

The network previously announced in September of 2012 that the singer, actress and entrepreneur had signed creative, production and marketing partnership with nuvoTV.

“I’m in it for the long run,” Lopez said during the upfront presentation on Wednesday evening about her relationship with the English-language network targeting Hispanic millenials.

“It’s time for television to reflect who the modern Latino actually is, not who we are believed to be, not who we may have been, but who we are now.” She said that NUVOtv will be offering a “new voice” and that the programming was going to show the true Latino experience in the U.S., with more “faces like ours” on the air.

During the presentation, NUVOtv’s Chief Executive Officer, Michael Schwimmer showered Lopez with praise, saying the partnership with the star is a perfect fit for the network, because she’s the “quintessential modern Latina – dynamic, bold and genuine.”

In her new key role, Lopez will help develop strategy, programming and promote NUVOtv as a key spokesperson and the face of the network.
