Zalaznick out at NBCU, Conde to take over some of her duties

NBCU CEO Steve Burke announced in an internal email that Lauren Zalaznick, the exec that had overseen Telemundo after the merger with Comcast, is leaving the company.

In February, Zalaznick was taken off Telemundo duty when Joe Uva was named Chairman, Hispanic Enterprises and Content  of NBCUniversal, in charge of overseeing the company’s Hispanic networks. At the time, she was promoted to a new role as Executive VP, NBCU, overseeing business development for digital, mobile, and social media.

Acording to Broadcasting and Cable, in the email sent out Friday, Burke said that most of the executives working with Zalaznick would now report to Executive VP Cesar Conde, who left Univision two weeks ago to join NBCU.

Burke also said Zalaznick will stay on in the company to help in the transition and would continue to consult with NBCUniversal on digital media content and technology marketplace trends.
