Zayas to anchor upcoming Telemundo Philly newscast

October 21, 2013 by Veronica Villafañe

Ramón Luis Zayas has been named anchor for Telemundo Philadelphia’s 6 and 11 pm newscasts set to launch in January.  He joins the station today.

Ramón was most recently anchor of Telemundo Network’s morning show “Un Nuevo Día,” a role he held since 2011.  He was taken off the air from the morning show and replaced with Edgardo del Villar in September.

He was previously anchor and reporter for  “Noticiero Telemundo Nueva York Fin de Semana” from 2002-2011.

Before that, he was an anchor and reporter with Univision’s WXTV-41 morning show, “Al Despertar.”

Telemundo recently purchased WWSI from ZGS.

Claribel Collazo also joins WWSI as Assistant News Director.  She was most recently with WTMO, the ZGS Telemundo affiliate in Orlando.
