Arias named anchor at NY1 Noticias

Patsi Arias has been hired as a full-time anchor at NY1 Noticias. She had been working at the Time Warner channel on a freelance basis.

She fills the position left vacant by Carleth Keys in September.

Patsi has been a New York media fixture since she moved to the U.S. in 2004 from her native Dominican Republic.

She began her U.S. broadcast career as a reporter at Telemundo’s WNJU-47, later moving to the weekend anchor desk. She was eventually promoted to weekday 6 and 11 pm co-anchor.

An Emmy-award winning anchor, prior to NY1, she was a network correspondent for Telemundo’s morning show “Un Nuevo Día.”

Patsi began her career as the morning anchor for CDN (Cadena de Noticias)in the Dominican Republic in 2001.
