Univision Digital announced today it has appointed Hilda García to the newly created position of VP, Digital Local Media. She is based in Miami and reports to Borja Echevarría, VP and Editor-in-Chief, Univision Digital, and Kevin Mills, VP of Digital Strategy.
In this new role, she’ll be responsible for establishing editorial vision and guidelines, as well as directing day to day editorial operations. All local publishers – from both TV and radio – will report to her.
García will also spearhead the development of digital and radio content with a local perspective for major Hispanic communities across the U.S. and implement social media strategies to drive engagement for local digital content.
She was most recently VP of Multimedia Content and Community Development for Entravision, a post she held since April of last year. She previously spent 4 years at impreMedia as Digital Content Director.
García has also held Multimedia director roles at El Universal newspaper in Mexico City and El Nuevo Día in Puerto Rico.
