Wondery debuts first original podcast

July 14, 2016 by Veronica Villafañe

Wondery FOUND podcastThe Wondery podcast network has debuted its first original series with its own dedicated app.

FOUND explores stories of love, loss, hope and aspiration through the lens of lost and found notes.

The series, which premiered yesterday, is produced in partnership with Found The Musical and Killer Films Media and is hosted by bestselling author and This American Life contributor Davy Rothbart.

New episodes will be made available every other Wednesday.

When he announced the creation of the Wondery network in January, company president Hernán López said he was interested in creating and curating content that looked “at real life-based shows that combine the element of storytelling with investigation with interviews.”

FOUND does just that. The first episode tackles diversity and the dreams of an aspiring actor in search of success, described in a letter found 15 years ago.

Since its launch, and prior to the debut of FOUND, Wondery has been promoting “partner shows.” In June, the podcast network had one million downloads.
