Univision Chicago promotes Arvesu and Uribe to VP roles

January 19, 2017 by Veronica Villafañe

Univision Chicago has upped News Director Teri Arvesu to VP and Director of Content.

In her new role, she’ll oversee news operations as well as the station’s creative services department. She’ll be responsible for creating editorial content for broadcast and digital, as well as promotions.

Arvesu joined WGBO as News Director in 2013. She moved to Chicago from Miami, where she spent 10 years working her way up from producer to executive producer at Univision 23.

Edna Uribe was promoted from National Sales Manager to VP and Director of Univision Local Media Sales Chicago. She replaces Héctor Fábregas, who left the station last year.

Uribe is now responsible for leading the local and national sales efforts and creating new revenue streams for Univision Chicago O&Os WGBO and WXFT, radio stations WOJO-FM, WPPN-FM, WVIV-FM & WRTO-AM, as well as the company’s local digital platforms.

Uribe first arrived at WGBO as an account executive in 2007.

The station also promoted Iván García to Creative Services Manager. He had been a producer and editor for the creative services department since he joined the station in 2013.
