reVolver taps López-Alvarez as VP of Content, Uva as advisor

Podcast company reVolver has hired María López-Álvarez as VP of Content and Production. She’ll continue to be based in Miami and oversee content strategy, development and production, as well as talent evaluation and management.

López-Álvarez previously worked at Telemundo from 2012 until last year, exiting as as SVP of Realities when her position was eliminated as part of a company restructuring.

Before that, she spent 26 years at Univision, where she held several positions in the news and entertainment departments. During her time at Univision, she developed and implemented new shows, including the hit beauty contest reality program “Nuestra Belleza Latina.”

reVolver has also tapped another Univision and Telemundo exec. It has appointed Joe Uva as non-executive chairman of the board, advising the company’s managers on governance, trategy and business development.

Currently President of Gull Point Advisors, Uva was NBCU’s Chairman, Hispanic Enterprises and Content from 2013 to 2015 and President and CEO of Univision from 2007 to 2011.
