Telemundo Chicago hires Gutiérrez as reporter for new investigative unit

Telemundo Chicago is expanding its investigative reporting efforts, hiring Hilda Gutiérrez for the launch of a new unit called Telemundo Chicago Investiga.

Gutiérrez will be leading Telemundo Chicago Investiga, collaborating with sister-station NBC 5 Chicago on joint investigative projects. She’ll begin to file stories in the coming weeks.

Gutiérrez joins Telemundo Chicago from Los Angeles where she spent 7 years at Estrella TV’s channel 62, starting as a producer and working her way up to anchor and special assignments reporter.

The newly created unit will complement the station’s existing consumer investigative unit, Telemundo Chicago Responde, launched in 2015.
