Univision debuts new W Studios original series to compete with Telemundo at 10 pm

October 28, 2018 by Veronica Villafañe

Univision is launching a new original series that dives into the supernatural called “Amar a Muerte.”

Produced by its W Studios division, Univision hopes to beat Telemundo at 10 p.m., which has dominated the timeslot during the past several years.

Univision, which has struggled with audience erosion in recent years, has yet to catch up to Telemundo when it comes to original primetime series.

In an effort to change that, it launched W Studios in 2016, producing and airing its first original – “La Piloto” – last year.

Since then, Univision has rolled out two other original series: weekly anthology series “Descontrol,” “La Bella y Las Bestias” and season 2 of “La Piloto.”
