Julio Gaby Acevedo

WNBC adds Acevedo to station’s reporting team

Julio “Gaby” Acevedo is moving to New York to join NBC 4’s reporting team.

Acevedo previously worked as a freelance reporter for NBC 4 New York and Telemundo 47’s temporary San Juan mobile news bureau, covering Puerto Rico’s post-Maria recovery.

He’ll start his new role as weekday general assignment reporter for WNBC on Friday, November 2.

Prior to joining the NBC 4/Telemundo 47 in 2017, Acevedo spent more than a decade working in local radio and television in Puerto Rico.

He was a bews correspondent for the Puerto Rico Olympic Committee in the London 2012 and Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Summer Games. He also covered the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto for Telemundo.
