El Rey Network names Rios VP of Programming and Acquisitions

November 12, 2018 by Veronica Villafañe

Former Telemundo exec Mauricio Rios joins the Robert Rodriguez and Univision-owned El Rey Network as VP of Programming and Acquisitions.

He’ll be based in Los Angeles.

Rios was most recently Director of Programming and Scheduling at Telemundo’s cable channel Universo, where for three years he was responsible for the acquisition of programming for the rebranded channel and executing its short and long-term program planning and scheduling strategy.

He previously worked as Director of Joint Venture Channel Operations at NBCUniversal International, providing oversight and guidance for programming, marketing, online, on-air, and operational requirements of international joint venture channels in Latin America, South Korea, Israel and Canada.

Before that, Rios spent 11 years at Fox Latin American Channels, leading the acquisitions and programming strategy for a portfolio of channels, including Canal Fox, FX, Fox Life, National Geographic and Speed Channel.
