Univision 41 promotes Tejeda for 11 pm newscast relaunch; Soto returns to mornings

September 30, 2019 by Veronica Villafañe

Univision 41 is relaunching its 11 pm newscast with a new format and anchor.

Starting today, Yisel Tejeda takes over the helm of “Noticias 41 Solo a las Once.” She will also co-anchor the 6 pm newscast with Adriana Vargas.

Described as a “hyperlocal in-depth newscast,” the station’s late night show will cover the day’s top stories and add panel discussions featuring experts with opposing views on selected topics.

The newscast will also include audience participation with the anchor reading viewer comments in real time via a new 84-inch mobile touch screen monitor on set.

Tejeda’s promotion to the NY station anchor desk comes after spending four years as a reporter.

Prior to joining Univision 41 in 2015, Tejeda worked as a reporter, anchor and producer for Infomás and Baynews9, Bright House Network’s Spanish-language and English-language broadcast news stations in Tampa.

The station is also implementing other anchor changes. Katiria Soto returns to mornings as co-anchor of “Al Despertar” and Adriana Vargas will only anchor the 6 pm weekday newscasts.

I saw today’s news at 11 and I think the change is horrible, it looks like improvisation of the new anchor… The only investigation I saw was the report made by Solano. What I could see was more tv commercials. I think that these “change” is only to cut staff (anchors) and include more adds!

With so many big changes coming to 41 by the end of the year, and Creste does this now ?
Interesting plan, to give him some “benefit on the doubt”

That bad because Yisel Tejada is 6-7 months pregnant so this won’t last long, Creste could’ve just did it after she came back from maternity leave and planned this new format now while she is pregnant

Surprise !! More than 20 workers signed a letter denouncing abuse and harassment by Creste that destroyed Noticias 41 in his administration and now 41 has the worst ratings in his history… the end for him is coming for sure !

it’s not true Truegirl… Creste did an excellent job as a spy of Telemundo 47 ending 41 … applause for the gravedigger …

I returned back from vacations to find out about the change. For me the combination of Katiria Soto and Adriana Vargas was the best. Univision 41 news was much better than national Univision news. It is a shame. No problem.

Quien viste a YISEL TEJEDA???QUE MAL GUSTO!!!
