Acevedo out at Univision network

Enrique Acevedo

Enrique Acevedo is no longer at Univision as of Friday, June 25, multiple sources tell Media Moves.

Acevedo’s bio has been scrubbed from the Univision website and he has removed mention of his role as anchor at the network on social media.

His Twitter account on June 23 showed he was a Univision anchor, but by Saturday, that line was gone, only showing his involvement as correspondent for 60 Minutes’ “60 in 6” show on new platform Quibi.

Enrique Acevedo’s Twitter account on June 23 shows he is an anchor for Univision. That no longer appears on his account on June 26.

A Univision news spokesperson would not confirm or deny his exit from the company, responding to questions about his departure with the following brief statement: “We’re unable to comment on this matter at this time.”

Media Moves reached out to Acevedo, but did not hear back from him at the time of this publication.

Acevedo joined Univision in 2012 as co-anchor of the network’s “Edición Nocturna” late night newscast, alongside Ilia Calderón. He has since held other roles within the company, including co-anchor of an Unimás newscast, alongside Patricia Janiot, launched in 2019.

Earlier this year, he was named correspondent for Quibi’s “60 in 6.”

Prior to Univision, Acevedo was a Miami-based correspondent for Telemundo.
