September 23, 2020 by Veronica Villafañe

KRGV has hired Marianela Aguirre and Hugo Magallán, expanding its Rio Grande Valley Spanish-language news team.

Aguirre was most recently at KGBT -TV, where she launched and anchored Azteca América news briefs. She previously spent more than 16 years at KNVO-48, the Univision affiliate in McAllen, working in several capacities including anchor and news director.

Magallán was off the air for the past two years. He was previously weekend anchor at KTLM, Telemundo 40 McAllen from 2014 to 2018. Before that, he spent six years at KNVO-48 Univision McAllen.

Landing at KRGV reunites Aguirre and Magallán, who formerly worked together at KNVO.
