Carlos Zapata

Carlos Zapata makes jump to Telemundo 47

October 8, 2020 by Veronica Villafañe

Carlos Zapata is making a jump to a bigger market. He’s heading to Telemundo 47, where he’ll join the New York station – No. 2 Hispanic market – as a general assignment reporter.

He’ll be leaving KXTX Telemundo 39 in Dallas (ranked No. 5 Hispanic DMA), after a 7-year run.

Zapata joined Telemundo 39 as a video journalist in 2013. He is currently an afternoon anchor and reporter.

He’ll start at Telemundo 47 on Monday, November 9, and go on-air later that month.

Zapata steps into an open position, left vacant after Rosarina Breton was officially promoted to weekend anchor in late June. She had previously been one of several reporters filling in for Alberto Rullán, who moved to sister station Telemundo 62 in September 2019.
