Morning news anchor Rita Garcia has left KTTV, the Fox owned Los Angeles station.
Her last day on air was Monday, May 24.
The Texas native is packing her bags and heading back to her home state to spend time with family.
Garcia talked about her departure on social media, saying “These last few years have been incredible!” However, “Right now though, in my life, it’s important to be closer to family… We’ve all been through so much during the last year and a half with the pandemic.”
Garcia came back to Los Angeles to anchor Good Day L.A. in 2017.
She arrived from Fox owned KRIV in Houston, where she was a morning anchor since 2013. She previously worked as a freelance reporter at KCBS-KCAL in Los Angeles.
No word yet on what’s next on her career horizon. All she wrote on her Instagram page was “I will keep you posted on my next adventure right here on social media…stay tuned.”
